love 146

Love146.org works toward the abolition of child sex trafficking and exploitation, through aftercare, advocacy and prevention. According to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), 1.2 million children are trafficked annually. This is equivalent to two children every one minute. The physical, mental and emotional trauma of these children requires attention -- which is why Love146 trains aftercare workers and multiplies safe homes. The registered public charity also aids socioeconomic development programs in high risk communities and helps direct awareness to this quiet tragedy. You can help stop the exploitation.

Kevin Brannon, of the Army National Guard, is collecting shoes for the children of war torn Afghanistan. After noticing their blistered bare feet, burning in the 140 degree sun, Brannon contacted his family in Arizona for help. Together they began the project, 'For Their Sole Benefit,' and successfully shipped hundreds of shoes to Afghanistan. While Brannon mans a gun atop a Hummer, children cluster around the vehicle begging for water and candy. Now he can give them shoes. As Kevin's wife, Julie, says, "The more shoes, the better."
